Selena Gomez and Other Stars Submit Selfies to ‘Interview’ Magazine

Selena Gomez was one of several celebs to submit a selfie to Interview for the magazine’s latest project, which features eight separate covers for its September #ME issue.

In her photo, the pop star scowls at the camera as her signature dark locks cover half of her face.

“We invited each subject to use this opportunity to create something powerful and personal: the utmost expression of themselves,” editor-in-chief Keith Pollock explained. “We definitely encouraged them to push the limits, but we weren’t interested in steering them in any way. Our aim was to allow them to create an image that reflects the way the subjects see themselves. And the way they want to be seen.”

As it turns out, her acting agent was less than pleased, and the two have now parted way.

“I just got fired by my wussy acting agent because I spoke up about the bullshit in Hollywood,” McGowan tweeted on Wednesday. “Hahaha. #douchebags #awesome #BRINGIT.”

Dean McDermott on ‘True Tori’: ‘Great Learning Experience,’ But I Won’t Do It Again

As far as Dean McDermott is concerned, his time on True Tori – the reality TV show he starred in alongside wife Tori Spelling and their four children – was full of good and bad.

“It was a great learning experience, it certainly expedited the things that we needed to work on, but I would rather do fun stuff with the family,” he told Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb on the Today show. “Those days of baring our souls to the world are over.”

The show, of course, ultimately chronicled the challenges in McDermott’s marriage to Spelling, including his infidelity and trip to rehab.

Madonna Denies Texting During Off-Broadway Performance

Madonna became the subject of some less-than-stellar Twitter fodder over the weekend when it was suggested that she spent much of her time during a recent performance of Hamilton engrossed in her phone.

“Tonight was the first time I asked stage management NOT to allow a celebrity (who was texting all through Act 2) backstage. #noselfieforyou,” Tony-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda reportedly tweeted, though the message has since been taken down.

Actor Casey Erin Clark, who says she was sitting behind Madonna, added, “That time you want to smack #Madonna upside the head for texting during the best show I’ve ever seen. #HAMILTONpublic.”

Madonna, however, has come forward via her rep to deny the claims.

“It’s not true. She was invited backstage four different times,” Liz Rosenberg said in a statement. “She texted post show when they were doing their fundraising pitch. Madonna had already made a generous donation.”

Kendall Jenner Flips Off Tyler, the Creator at Coachella Concert

Kendall Jenner and Tyler, the Creator got into a very public spat over the weekend at the Coachella music festival – though it turns out it was all in good fun.

When Tyler spotted Jenner in the crowd during his time in stage, he called out the model, saying, “Kendall Jenner here, thinking she cute and s—t. Hey Kendall, Kendall, Kendall… I’m over here to your right. F—k you.”

Jenner shot back by flipping Tyler the bird, though the rapper took to Twitter later on to laugh at anyone who thought their back-and-forth was ill-intentioned.

Jennifer Lopez on Selena: ‘There Is Never Going to Be Another’

As we approach the 20-year anniversary of the tragic death of budding Mexican pop star Selena Quintanilla, Jennifer Lopez has come forward to speak to Billboard about the singer’s legacy and lasting impact.

“It has always bugged me that people would try to think that there’s a ‘next Selena,’” Lopez said. “It’s like saying there’s another James Dean or Marilyn Monroe. People like that don’t come along every day. There is never going to be another Selena. It’s a special thing that Selena had. That’s why we’re still talking about her 20 years later.”

Lopez famously portrayed the Latina musician in the 1997 biopic Selena.
